Skeleton Militia
This is one of the core units of my Army of Sylvania, and although it is painted for tabletop use, the conversions have been quite time consuming. The basic premise is that the unit was, in life, an actual military regiment, and that in death they have been called to serve again (hence the uniforms). The main source of parts for the conversions comes from the Bretonnian militia plastic boxed set, with plenty of work with a knife and greenstuff to achieve a more downtrodden feel. The heads for the skeletons come from a variety of sources, mostly metal bitz from banner poles and trophy racks; I've always disliked the disproportionate skull size found on GW plastic skellies, so I took the time to find realistically - sized heads for this unit. The headdresses are mostly sculpted out of greenstuff. I wanted the command group to stand out a bit, so I used some sourced lighting from the musician's lantern to give an eerie glowing effect. It has to be my favourite part of this unit. There are 25 painted, and another 25 to go, so I'm certainly open to comments and suggestions. Cheers,
