Dune Beast

Painted recently (June 02), working more on my blending and detailing. Still struggling with wood textures and highlighting wood, suggestions and critiques welcome :)

Thanks for all the great feedback! Everything you said was true, wish I would have done that at the time :) As for the base, custom made for display more than game use. This guy is big, easily taller than a standard ogre figure, but slightly smaller than a Giant. Larger base was needed to give him balance as the one he came with was poor at best!

It looks very good. I like the overall feel of your color scheme, and you have done a great job on skin and hair. The bone spikes look a bit too bleached for me, so, maybe a thin wash of snakebite leather would warm them a bit. The fur of the tabard and the rock knife at the back could use another highlight (try for almost white), to match the contrast you achieved on hair/skin. Base seems to big, but I'm not that familiar with this model in particular to know if it is an add-on or if the mini came casted on it.
