This is my FreeBooter Summer Paint-Off entry. I used real metallics on him because I thought it would suit him better than NMM, and it was fun after solely painting NNM for all this time. I was totally enchanted and sometimes sat there at my desk squeaking and squeeling in joy of having rediscovered metallics. Unfortunately the standard matte varnish I always apply has dulled the effect somewhat but I'm still happy about the way he turned out. Great sculpt, a pleasure to paint. :) And as always, thanks to everyone who commented and voted on my previous posts. Thanks to Wealon for the pic. :)

Wow, this is a great departure from your other posts. The others have a soft, almost pastel feel, this guy seems bold and leathery. I like it. It suits the mini perfectly.

Wonderful choice of colors and smooth blending, everything fits with the pirates I have imagined reading books like "Treasure island" The base it's a nice add on
