Steamroo
My friend Cindy talked me into uploading pics of my work here, so this is the first attempt to do so. I need to experiment a bit to find the best way of uploading a good photo here. This steamdriven kangaroo was my entry for the visions of putty showcase 2 which had "Victorian" as a subject. Originally I was only going to make the roo but a French sculptor and I decided to work together. So he made Sherlock Holmes with mechanical wings and I added Doctor Watson and an attachment bar to pull him. It worked out quite well, even though we never met in person. If you want to see Sherlock, got to http://www.miniature-painting.net, select visions, VIP 2 and then Stephane Camosseto. You can also see the other entries there. The roo is mostly made from a Milliput/green stuff much using "hard sculpting" techniques. I.e. carving, filing, sanding, etc. Watson is made in GS using "wet sculpting" techniques. The lower picture shows the parts (some damaged by the mouldmaking process). The legs were duplicated during the mouldmaking process so I only needed to make one set. The painting needs some reworking but the photo should give an idea of what the mini looks like assembled.
