Thanks for the comments Eric. You are right on with your observations. The blood is a little bright and the base is really bland. I painted this guy in a rush to try and bolster my tiny IG army, and it shows in the quality. Thanks again for the comments!

The blood effect is nice although a little bright. The greenish skin tone on the severed head is very well done. The rest is solid table top but shows a lot of potential. The base is sub-par for this piece.

Thanks for the comment Casus. The blood effect was achieved pretty simply. Just added a little water to GW Blood Red and set a drop of it on the face of the blade, then you tip the mini so that the "blood" actually drips down the blade and onto the dudes hand. Where the actual impact of the blade would have been, I just dry brushed a little GW Blood Red mixed with a little GW Scorched earth.
