I think the image is suffering from some lack of quality.. seems a little blurry. And a back view could be good, the cloak looks promising :)
On the paint job, I like the armor, though it's a bit messy, which I can understand, this style of armour is a pain in the arse to paint. Nice metallics, and the rest is good.
Well a really good piece of work both on the photograph and the execution of the painting. You've come a long way Mel, and each post shows your improvement.
