This was my first Golden Demon entry at the 2004 Baltimore Games Day. It was in the battle scene category and I am proud to say that it made the first cut. Please let me know what you think.
The premise for this diorama is great - a bunch of tyranids intercepting an ultramarine landspeeder in flight from a rock formation - crazy! I can't tell for sure by the picture, but using spray primer can make for a neater presentation an paint job; dry brushing can produce good weathering; and taking a fine detail brush to all the important parts (the landspeeder, marines, and tyranids) can improve your chances of winning in painting competition drastically! Good job and keep up the good work!
I think the modeling and setup of this scene is fantastic. The paintwork is great, but not super. There's an apparent lack of weathering on the metal, yet the paintjob isn't clean enough to represent an immaculately new vehicle. This makes me want to see Starship Troopers 2 even more than I already do.
