Kanrus Redoux

This is Reaper Fig 02772 Iris, Female Gnome Fighter, except on my table, it is Kanrus, a PC. Yes the pink & blue pants were her idea, not mine. She is covered on DulCoat, but still manages to appear shiney. Too much light?

Better, especially the picture. I like the black base, especially on the washer. The static grass helps a lot as well. (Ya know, I am beginning to think that I'm a total base snob. ;) ) Good detail on the face, especially with such a small figure! Which dullcoat brand are you using? Some advertise to be dull, but in miniature scale are often glossy. I haven't had too many problems with Testors. You might need to shake the can up more. (Or are you using brush-on?) Usually people refrain from painting much of the upper lip -- it usually looks like a bad lipstick job. A bit on the lower lip is usually enough.

A tip to help you get rid of that annoying glossy glare; Photograph your mini after painting it, but before varnishing it. Even Dulcoat can create this effect. I like the pink and blue pants actually, better than the standard brown that I've noticed is really popular with painters of Reaper minis.
