Hi, well my intention was to paint the shield rims the same color as the hides they are wearing, to suggest that, rather than metal, they are tanned leather rims bolted in place with bone dowels. I considered making the rims tiger-striped as well, but honestly was ready to move on to another project.
The best thing about this would be the scratch built banner. The spearbits on the boss's boar are also cool but one problem, the shields have metal rims and savage orcs aren't known for blacksmithing. Course they could have stolen them and you were probably given those shields with the unit, but still...
