Axenarf the armored Ogre

I present Axenarf the armored Ogre by Hasselfree Miniatures. An awesome sculpt and a joy to paint :) The metallics were very time consuming but I think it was well worth the effort. I tried to do a lot of wet-blending and feathering on them. Working with multiple browns and a few greens I tried to make the armor look battle worn and old. I am quite happy with the pattern on the shoulder pads though a metallic pattern on metallic armor can be a bit tricky to see ;) He was quite challenging to get a good picture of because metallics are hard to photograph and the dimensions of the miniature. He is about 45mm in height, but chosing the best angle he is about 80mm wide. If you are interested in more pictures please check out my site www.painted-miniatures.de and browse to the 'Others Fantasy' gallery. Comments are appreciated and thanks for looking :)

Good to see someone "keeping the faith" with excellent metallic work!

Very nice job on this bravo. The mettalics look very good and I like the dark skin you achieved. The free hand swirls on the armour are a nice touch. This mini really reminds me of the very very old citadel ogres done in the Marauder days.

I'm diggin' this in a big way. The metallics are beautiful. Green in the armour? Never would have thought of that. Gonna go and try it now.
