Wedding Cake Top - White Red Lioness - WIP, part 1

Hi All, Thought I'd put up a "Work In Progress" of the diorama I’m doing for my Wedding Cake topper. Basically, the idea is a Red Lioness, done in variations of white, and a Knight of Alahan, done in black or dark blues; representing the Bride and Groom (me). The figures will be standing on a snowy river bank about to cross to a grassy spring like bank. This is the first piece completed, the Lionesses’ horse, so about a quarter of the project’s done and only 2 weeks to the Wedding. The Wedding is April 8th, but I have been “ordered” to be finished by the 4th. D’OH! Wish me luck. ;) Cheers, Darkblade UPDATE: To see the White Lioness herself go here ID #50263

Thats awesome!! I cant wait to see the finished product. I think its great, only i do not like blacklining on such a light object. As for demonhide, I think he does not truly appreciate the overall quality of the weddingcake topper and all. Very, very nice.

The colors on the horse are really beautiful and creamy. Great job on all the filigree too. I know, from my own experiences, it is a truly difficult thing to paint! I just have one problem with this piece, and that is, I would advise you to use darklinning instead of blacklinning when you work with very light colors such as these. I think the blacklining here appears very dominating and ruin the overall look of the horse. Anyways, I like it a lot!
