Early 90's Chaos Dwarf Conversion

Hi folks, this is the first mini I'll have posted on CMON so any feedback would be greatly appreciated. The figure is an old GW Chaos Dwarf from the late 80's/early 90's. He was originally armed with a poxy looking sword that I ended up swapping for the rather more impressive looking blade from a Citadel Minotaur Lord (again, from the mid 80's). I also angled him up and off his base so it looks like he's really trying to put all his weight behind that huge blade, almost toppling over. As far as the painting goes, well, I like it. This is the first time I've tried to paint a figure without using any metallic colours at all, and was more fun to paint as a result. I like it, I hope you do. Cheers Barkel, you are totally right about the horns - they were the last things to get painted on the mini and I rushed the job. The helm is shaded, it just doesn't really show on the scan but I am glad you like the armour. Thank you very much for leaving me the comment. Viv

I think the base is good also. But I also like the shading you have done on the armor. I don't understand why you didn't shade the helmet, but the body looks well shaded. The major drawback, so far as I can tell, are the horns. They need the attention of the rest of the mini. Still, a great first post.

Thanks Bakalla, I'm glad you like the base - it was my first time using static grass. The sword looks odd because it is being seen in profile but you're right about the colour, it should be more bronze-y!
