Actually, this is a good first effort and could be used as a base to try more advanced techniques and practice shading and dry-brushing. There is quite a lot of detail here such as the yellow triangles on the shoulder armour and black and white checking on the shins.
It looks from the photo that the model has been gloss varnished, maybe a thin layer of matte or satin varnish would give a better result.
So a good start, keep painting and you'll have 7+ scores in a short while.
This is better than it's current score, but could be improved alot. It's too shiny, use matte varnish, work on your shading and highlighting of everything, and the base needs improvement. Here's one tip. For the base, seal it w/ watered down PVA glue, then paint the base dark brown or black, and drybrush it w/ successive lighter levels of brown or grey, maybe use some static grass if you have it. This will improve the base alot IMO, and is simple to do.
A couple of things would help this guy a lot. On his teeth, take a dark brown and thin it out fairly well. Apply that to his teeth, letting it settle towards his gumline. If it doesn't look dark enough, hit it again. The shading would make his teeth look more realistic.
Take the original green you used and add a little yellow. Use this to highlight his skin, especially where you want to accent the musculature.
You might want to shade some of the cloth a little or drybrush silver on the weapons. The silver on the weapons would give a bit of highlight.
Once you've done that, spray the model with Dull Cote. This would protect the changes you've made and reduce the shine of the model.
