The banner was painted blue. The blue in the ridges of the stitching, and the holes in the banner, is a strong ink wash of blue. This was let dry. That took quite a while to dry, about 5 minutes. Afterwards, the skeleton was washed a brown and cream (instad of the usual cream and white), then let dry. This weas done messily to represent the ogre's quality of painting (and mine :P) The skeleton was then done with a lighter color (slightly more white added) than the base wash, and let dry. Drying on that was fast. The banner was lightly stippled with the base color in semi-even strokes going down the center of each strip of cloth on the back. The front got a few dabs here and there. The poor guy got left behind - his muscles didn't get touched up at all because of the time lost on the banner. But it was a fun afternoon!
