This is my first atempt at a historical figure. It's made by Victory Force Miniatures. I'm looking for comments on the color accuracy as it was very hard to find good color photos from the period.
Couple of good sources would be Osprey Books, or some of the other books on the arms and uniforms of the US army. As for the mark on the side of the helmet it is true that the Airborne were the only ones using them in 1944, but prior to that most of the army used them at some time in the ETO.
The Helmet shouldn't have that mark... He is not a Para.. and I think you are using Band of Brothers for a reference. The Helmet should be a little darker. The chin strap was Brown leather. The Web gear, could be more of a Khaki color and the pants should be Olive Green to Olive Brown. This would be for a Italy to D-Day style figure, later the Uniform was changed gradually for an all OD green. Some bits were retained till the end of the war.
