2689: Kurft the Swift

Painted this for one of the pc's in my campain. Terriffic sculpt for a classic dual wielding rogue. First attempt at a gem effect. Had to paint the gem twice because I did it backwards the first time. I knew there was just something not right with it and after looking up the Gem article I immediatly saw my mistake. Also my first go with static grass... which is why the base looks kinda furry. Need to puts some gravel in there next time to break it up a bit and probably a dry brushing to pick out the tips of the grass. I wanted the cloak really black as the pc this fig represents has a magic cloak that practically absorbs light. It doesn't come out on the pic but there is a slight dark blue tint for its highlights but as most people know proper lighting on black for taking pictures can be a real pain. Which is why the back of the cloak has a slight glare/shine to it, but overall I am pleased with the result.

I think you did a great job on this figure. Everything is clean and well defined. The face looks great and I like the small bag under his arm. Good job on the gem too. The sword is the only thing that sticks out to me that could use some more attention, maybe some black ink to break the crossguard from the blade

Nie work. I like how the brown looks against the black cloak. Never thought about using those two colors on a figure.
