Thengil, Dwarf Priest
Hey, look at this... two new minis in less than a month! I'm on a roll I tell you, a roll... Anyway, down to business. This is Reaper's Thengil, Dwarf Priest, fro mtheir Warlord line. He's pretty standard, other than missing a pack, he's also mounted on a GW 25mm round base. I'm pretty pleased with the end result in this one, the model has a lot of character, and I enjoyed painting it- even if he took me around 4 months to get completely painted. I went with a non-standrad color for the beard, preferring something different than the traditional black, grey, blonde, or red for a dwarf's beard, and I ended up with something in the middle of brown and reddish blonde. And, yes, the hammer is supposed to be NMM gold... I know it's a little garish, but it helps balance the model some, avoids adding too much NMM silver to the model (considering the armor plates and chainmail shirt are already NMM silver...), and, well, he's a dwarf. Dwarves like gold, so why not choose a gold hammer if given the option? The same rationale was put into effect for the gems on his gauntlets, as I felt it fit with the whole "greedy dwarf" image.
