outriders skimrish regiment
I painted this with a 'northern wasteland' theme. Eventually I want to turn this into a battle scene in which these guys are fighting a horde of undead. It has minis from both games workshop empire and bretonian lines with a few conversions here and there. I tried to use more subtle highlighting then I normal would to give it a feel that these guys had really been wandering so long that the colors would have lost some of their luster. I also was experimenting with highlighting freehand which was a pain in the ass. I got the idea to do this from George Martin's series. There supposed to be all in black, but oh well. It needs more color than that. Little update: I took first with this at conquest painting competition 2003 in the skimrish regiment catagory.
