the Navas de tolosa battle

This diorama was half sculpted by me... It won the "best of show" in the last leon rampante contest (the andrea miniatures's contest). I did it with David Romero, the one who introduced me in the world of the historical miniatures and gave me the first lessons in modelling. He was the painter too. It was hard to do, yeah. When I mean hard, I am saying we were working on it for three months more than seven hours a day!!! a real nightmare at the end. now, about the scene: year, 1212. Center of Spain. Muslim border. The cristians castillians fight against the moors. That´s History. now, the story. "And the brave spanish king jumped right among the african slaves of the muslim king and his knigths and men-at-arms, encouraged by this action, began to run into the battlefield with no fear" the legend, though it´s false, sound better, isn´t it?

Thank you for explaining. Makes more sense now. Still one of the best on the site, IMHO.

This is amazing! But, can we have a little history behind what is going on?
