Toxaminer the Wizard

As you can see on the base this is another Sandra Garrity sculpt. Fantastic figure and a great deal of fun to paint. I think this guy took about six hours to complete. There were some rather severe mold lines which was disapointing. Please leave comments as I'm always willing to change things.... plus there's that whole getting better at painting thing. Need to do that too... yeah. The dragon was supposed to be NMM brass but it didn't turn out too well. It looks okay now but I'm none too pleased. At least it's the only disapointing part of my paint job. :) -Kazar

...but more like a 7.5, so I'll be voting an 8. The eyes are spectacular, but the overall colours are quite dim although smoothly done. For example, his staff lacks contrast - it could use more depth or highlighting. The little dragon's colours are gorgeous but it's the highlight placement that's letting you down on the nmm, there's a good article on CMON that should help with nmm on irregular objects. His fabric is incredibly smooth (although I think that his cloak and robe are too close in colour, as is the dragon on his cloak). Overall nicely done!

I like both the purple and the blue; nice blending! The pic is a bit dark, indeed, but I can't help you with photography stuff since my pics suck even more... ;)

Overall, nice look to this wizard. Couple of suggestions though. I think the wood part of the staff could use a little deeper shading and a little brighter highliting. The dragon on the back of his cloak looks unfinished to me, maybe needs some color. I think the design on the edge of his sleaves would look better if the the indents that define the design were the grey of the robe rather than the white of the trim.
