Display for Adepticon 2014 in Chicago IL. It is built from a vintage egg chair, and stands about 2 meters tall. The exterior is hand sculpted using Smooth-On Freeform Air, a very hard and light putty, which would allow sculpting onto the flexible and smooth egg. The interior is scratch built from a basic structure and lots of model parts from different ranges, and other found objects. Themed around the birth of the Tyranids with H.R Giger, Kuksi, and other horror inspirations. The Emperor Scythes investigate a space hulk unaware of the evil surrounding them. About a Bicycle
This is absolutely astounding!! I would love to have seen them dragging out a genestealer, or genestealer cultist, but the splatter of blood on the tiles hints at their ominous find. Plus, kudos on the vertebrae and scapulae - very realistic! I had the honour of visiting H.R. Giger's house in Switzerland, and this would definately fit right in!
