Visitation (a.k.a. Magnificat)
This scene is from Luke, chapter 1. In this scene, Mary, just having conceived Jesus by the Holy Spirit, visits her cousin Elizabeth, who is pregnant in her old age. They greet each other with joy, then Mary sings her Magnificat, the first line of which is painted on the base. The figures were sculpted by commission by Andrew Pieper.
