HELL YEAH!!! WAY TO STICK IT TO THE MAN!!!
well i dont know anything about guns so i wont make any comments like captain genius. not too bad looking. ive seen your other stuff and feel that you should be getting higher ratings. the ony thing i would suggest is dont use so much paint with the drybrushing. the only thing i really find wrong with this mini is the angle of the picture. makes it kinda hard to see what it is. other than that it looks good and the base looks totaly appropriate.
humph, AKs-74U my ass. honestly what are people thinking....
Actually professor, the weapon name IS spelled correctly. The AK-74 was a 5.45WP version of the AK-47, released in 1974 for motorized rifle platoons. Although the vast majority of them did have orange-brown components, there were many all gun-metal rifles produced as well. The AKS-74U is a different weapon, designed for Spetsnaz troops as well as vehicle crewmen.
I would definitely take your bet, as I'm pretty sure that Al-Qaeda can afford surplus Russian rifles THREE DECADES OLD, that were produced BEFORE THEY INVADED AFGHANISTAN, their well-known base of operations. Boy, I wonder if any of the Mujihedeen captured some? Might those same rifles be used by AQ militants today? It's a tough call, but I'm pretty sure you owe me some cash.
As for his pose, well, it's not the best pic in the world, but he's actually SUPPOSED to be leaning forward to take a shot from COVER. I know this concept may be very foreign to people used to painting warhammer minis.
Might I suggest you go read a book before pretending to be some know-it-all about things you obviously don't know a whole hell of a lot about? freaking retard... http://www.nimrod.kiev.ua/humor/kalashtelecom/
i'm sad for this guy. really, if getting shot in the face by a melta wasn't enough, he had his weapon's name spelled wrong. (unless you ment to say he had an AKs-74U, the new and improved kalishnikov which i'm willing to bet dollars to rubles al-quaida hasn't got any). Although, at this angle it looks like an MP-5. try to paint the wooden parts like the foregrip in a red-brown. I'm going to assume this was a pre-made mini, and not sculpted out of putty, which it kinda looks like. Also, might i suggest you consider basing your model correctly, he looks as if hes falling over. it helps to use some putty to aceive the right pose. You did his clohes alkright, wich earned you that one point. Put just a dab of matte varnish on his clothes to make them look dusty, but don't get any un his gun, of it'l mess up it's metallic luster. i DO like the base. theres another point. can't wait to see the rest.
