Inquisition

My competition piece for Ropecon 2014. Somehow it managed to be the best in the open and theme categories and also the overall competition winner! Triple victory, hur hur. The base is rather barren because I had to leave out few things to finish the mini in time (I actually finished it at 3.00 AM and my bus was going leave to Ropecon at 8.30 AM... "lots" of sleep as you can see). Originally, there was going to be flames, pottery, painted background sky and other stuff. The diorama also took some ugly damage during the transportation - which is why there are little white spots next to his boots. When I have the motivation, I'll fix the diorama and add the missing bits.

I think the effect is much better with the flames only hinted at from the reflections in the windows. Very powerful effect! Leaves something to the imagination

Thanks folks! It was actually quite challenging to find the balance between the mini and base: either one could have dominated the piece too much if done wrongly.
