Maruder Dwarf Thunderers

A unit of dwarf thunderers for my army. Now these are classic Marauder ones sculptured by Colin Dixon and Aly Morrison back in the 1990s. In my opinion, these not just the best thunderes, but some of the best dwarves made by any company at any time. I thoroughly enjoyed painting every single one. The drummer is not citadel but Harlequin/black tree, but I believe he fits i just right. My favourite? Second rank, third frim the right (with the pipe!).

To me, these models are definitely characterfull, but little less imposing. I probably like the dwarfs to be little more grim, heavier and muscular. My most favourite are Bugman's rangers and especially the Bugman himself. But regarding painjob, I really don't have any objection. It is painted very smoothly, realistic, with good choice of colours, perfect metal and fine details here and then. You really don't see old minis painted like this everyday. To me, this submittion is strong 9, I don't understand current 7,1 average at all.

Love those guys. Beautiful collection with a lot of character in each individual. As you noticed I also tried to manage to fit the blue-green scheme all together. Seeing yours I see nice crisp colors, painted with good detail. I would probably add something more to the bases. But nevertheless - lovely unit :)
