Portrait (Of A Merchant)
This piece was provided by Robert Lane (Elan13 Miniatures) for a a speed painting competition at Figure World back in July. As that was just concentrating on the face I thought it would be good fun to see if I could do something to emulate the focus achieved in some portraits where they use a very dark background. So I got the hacksaw out, carefully removed the back of the bust, and painted it to be mounted on a dark stained wooden plaque. It's definately a fun little piece to do.
