Morak the Black was the name of the dreaded Vampire who inhabited the blighted swamps of Amarra. Elusive, insidious and utterly deadly, this creature spread terror, death and utmost dismay, and roamed freely despite many unsuccessfull attempts to slay it, initiated by the local magistrates who could only count mounting corpses. Eventually, the situation drew the interest of the Inquisition. A cadre of Church knights trained to combat such creatures, were dispatched and, after long and grueling campaign, they managed to destroy the fiend, but not before losing three of their numbers. Until this day, region around Amarra is still threaded carefully and with unease by the locals ...
