Elf Standard Bearer

Directional lighting was used in defining the tone for this miniature. The figure stands on a fallen log, with rocks in the foreground as s solitary mushroom thrives in the depths of the shadows in the background. Sunlight shining through the trees illuminates the front left side of the figure and its surroundings. Contrastingly, the rear view of the figure is cast in shadow (hence the apparent lack of detail). All portions of the base were carved from Tupelo wood and painted in artist acrylics and gouaches. Yellows and greens dominate the color scheme for the illuminated portion of the piece with oranges and purples defining the darker shadowed areas. Comments are appreciated!

Very good job with the directional lighting...it is instantly apparent where it seems to be coming from. Cool base too! This one would probably benefit from a better picture.

Very nice. I think you've achieved the feel of the figure standing in the sunrise or sunset quite well, although I'd think the light might be a little more orange. But hey, this is fantasy, your light source could be pink and still be "realistic". Nice base.
