I love your colors and I know yellow is a real pain to work with.
My only crit is about the "flames."
First they are backwards (bright should move to dark for flames unlike say cloth).
Second, the staff itself is not apparently affected in any way by being on/spewing fire. I'd recommend a color change in the metal as it gets "hot" or possibly you could do the flame as not fire but some sort of green plasma etc.
Beautiful metal blade by the way.
