The eyes and lips look pretty nice. The face could use a bit of shading - a little darker right in the orb of the eye, and under the cheekbones.
On the dress, I can see the shades and highlights, but they are too subtle. Try mixing a little black or brown in your red for the shade. Mix yellow or orange with your base for the highlights. If the shading won't read for the camera, it won't read for a person, either.
Try putting your fig on a backdrop, instead of just on the counter to photograph it. The backdrop doesn't need to be fancy - even a piece of drawing or construction paper will work.
