Blaze's Demise
This is Blazes Demise. This is what I thought that a dragon sky battle might look like. I was inspired by the DragonLance world and artwork of Keith Parkinson's "Dragon of Hope" where Verminaard battled the gold dragon Blaze, as well as Jeff Easley's "Dragon Duel". The red dragon is Ember and its rider is Verminaard, the falling gold dragon is Blaze. The red dragon in the diorama is the Ral Partha Red Dragon of Krynn and the gold dragon is from Ral Partha's Antagonist box set. All of the fire, explosions, smoke and mountains, I sculpted from grey stuff epoxy with brass wires for support. The base I made of burelwood and stained it red. The wood had imperfections in it that looked like cracks, so I painted fire in the cracks, so the base looks to be on fire. The diorama showes Ember in attack flight administering the death blow to Blaze with his breath weapon. Blaze is falling out of control, while his breath weapon has burned through his neck, and is also coming out of his mouth. Ember's dragon fire has burned through Blaze and ignited Blaze's dragon fire in an explosion. The fire continues down to the mountains and explodes again on contact. I painted the diorama in the light effects style. I hope that you like it. As always, comments are welcome.
