Knight of Balance Grand Master

My first painted miniature manufactured by i-Kore. This one is a Knight of Balance Grand Master for the game Void. I do realize that the miniature is not very flashy but I think it is a very elegant casting. Wanting to reflect this with my painting I tried not to overload the miniature but still create interest. The paint scheme is kept very dark on purpose since I was beeing told that the Knights of Balance are something like stealthy saboteurs or assassins. I am really happy with the coat. Starting with a black basecoat I highlighted up to Gory Red with a few selected highlights with a Gory Red/Blood Red mix. The dirt are several layers of thin washes with Scorched Brown highlighted up to Graveyard Earth. You have to trust me when I say that the pictures do not do the coat justice and it looks much better in real life :) I am not happy about the blade of the sword. Overall though I think I achieved the look I was trying for and I definitly had a lot of fun painting the miniature. Comments are always welcome and thanks for looking :)

I love the contrast of the sword to the figure but as you point out i think it needs more"sparkle"at the tip.I think I would have done the handle brighter as we get the darkness of the character from its clothing.I think you could go overboard with the sword without ruining the overall feel.the coat really is good.

I like the sword, it creates some contrast to the otherwise very dark paintjob. Nice blending/glazing/whatever! - Thomas
