Arushnee, sculpt and paint.
Arushnee is a miniature from my new company called Creature Caster, launching on Kickstarter. She was sculpted by Joe Bullock and myself, Jeremy Glen. You might remember me from the company I formerly co-owned with Sophie, called Ultraforge Miniatures. Our goals with the sculpt were fairly simple. We wanted her to be tall (about 6 1/2 inches). We wanted her skin to be a combination of soft fleshy sexy bits, transitioning into hard monstrous armored bits. She has 8 limbs in total and multiple eyes on her living-sword, as her design is subtlety inspired by arachnids. This model is one of our prototype resin castings that I painted myself. This particular paint job focuses on keeping things super clean and clear. More than a few hours were spent blending paint shades over those large smooth surfaces. At the risk of having a model that looks a little simple, this will hopefully allow the viewer to focus on the shape and form of the sculpt itself. I am looking forward to painting subsequent versions of this model with a little more freehand and base work, but it is refreshing to just focus on blending and keeping things clean. www.creaturecaster.com
