Not bad at all bud. Try to 1) thin your paints a lot more look up an article from reaper called let it flow - the art of the craft wich refers to how to use flow improves (reaper makes a great one) and dry retardant (reaper makes a great one of these also. It will give you an idea as far as ratio to how thin for base coating , washing and layering or blending up your highlights. There are many ways to achieve a subtle gradation I use what they call blending but thru translucency it's called layering .
