Here is my fourth miniature, an orc shaman.
Had fun painting the face and trying the water on the base.
Colored with acrylics, base made with milliput and wood bark.

I agree the base is really nicely done, It feels alive. In the figure I would say it looks a little bit more flat. I do believe that a little bit more "lighter" highlights would have help him to "pop" out from the base a little bit more. Mostly the face and staff would benefit from this.
The base you created for this is truly wonderful. It actually hogs my attention from the miniature almost completely, but whatever, the whole thing works just fine overall. Lovely little display piece, and really makes me want to do more of that myself.
