Smooth Skink

After the 'dusty' look of my Kroxigor, I did this guy as a test using only 'painted-on' highlights. I mixed up seven colours in a Titan Buff (off-white) to Jenkins Green (dark green) blend, and by keeping them covered they lasted the four hours it took me to do the paint job. This was useful, since I could easily repair mistakes, since the original colour was still available. I made liberal use of acrylic extender to make translucent paints to ease the blending process without having to be fast enough to do proper wet on wet. Overall I'm pleased with the green skin, with the exception of a few overly bright highlights on the back.

the process for blending the skin is very effective here--you could even get bolder with the highlights...now you just need to spend some time on the rest of him--the bow, the quiver, etc.
