Pirate Scorpion

This is an old BattleTech miniature by Ral Partha which I modified and painted in a pirate scheme for an online painting competition and much to my surprise I won :) The missile launcher is in part scratchbuild. The flames and many of the armorplates are made from green stuff. I am very happy with how all the weathering turned out (some subtle blends are lost in the photo though :( ). Originally I wanted to try my hand at lighting effects and some more freehand details but I ran out of time. Even though I am a bit afraid of destroying the mini I will try some lighting effects and post new pictures soon (I must admit I am feeling very nervous about trying this...).
