Bretonnian Sorceress

This was taken with a new digital camera, and I am slightly disappointed with the picture quality. However I do think the picture quailty is better than all the pictures I have posted to date and at a smaller file size...! This is the first time I have attempted to paint a sword without using metallic paints so any comments would be appreciated.....

I love the sorceress in this miniature but I think I have to agree the horse didn't due the overall piece any favors. You purple cloth came out wonderfully though, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Looks like painting 101, solid, shows promise, but despite a great figure, not much going on here, and I think the problem is lackluster color choices. The horse is terrible, but I think you can share blame with the model. I gave you a point for the flesh, though, which most people stink at, but, as far as I can tell in this photo, you have gotten near perfect (well, except for the lips, and they're hard, too). The sword is fine and with such a solid start, I would suggest re-mounting her on a better horse and re-interpreting everything but the gown and flesh (the belt and headgear colors are very bad). you could have a solid "9" figure here with more work.
