Killyox, Pack Leader - Wolfen

First of all, let me apologize for the blocky background. I had to make the background as solid as I could to make the size requirement, since I have zero resizing capability (no Photoshop!). I tried several different things with this mini. I highlighted individual strands of hair. I think the tail turned out particularly nice. I also tried to make some of the runes on the banner looked like they were glowing. I'm pretty happy with the effect. I used brown modeler's grass on the base, along with food colored oregano so it looked like dead leaves. If you can't tell, I tried to pattern him after a wolf. The blade was a real nightmare for me. It was so big, I knew it needed something, and I think the green etched runes helped it look not so empty. Please let me know what you think. I appreciate all comments! :)

You did a great job on the banner and tiny stuff on the blade (wish to see a close up). The only thing that stops me from giving you 8 is the green on his armor - it just doesn't go well with the rest

Looks pretty good to me. I really like the freehand on the blade and the look of the runes on his banner. Though overall he looks a bit flat. I think perhaps he needs a darker coat on the back iand more contrast around the face/muzzle if you are going for a standard grey wolf look to him. Also I think that the blade needs more shading and highlighting to make the runes stand out a bit more. The loincloth also looks like it could benefit from a few highlights more. And maybe bring out the shape of his claws with another highlight- especially the hand clutching the big blade.

Thanks GarnetJubilee, your insightful comments are always appreciated, and I am thankful for the time and thought you put into them. Some things I thought I should respond to. Those charms on his loin cloth are an absolute nightmare. They were silver, with a green string attaching them to his belt. However, after letting him sit for two days after completing the painting process, I sealed him with a dullcoat. Usually I gloss first, and then dull, but this time I just used the dull. The purple bled onto the charms and the string, so now you can't really see the string at all, and the charms look like "eggs," as you put it. Since I was sooooo tired of working on him, I left it. As for highlighting his hair, I was going for a super shiney look, and his hair IS gray. :) I also wanted some texture in the green so it wouldn't look like metal, but rather like leather, so it wasn't intended to be a smooth highlight. Thanks again!
