Human Adventurer from Otherworld Miniatures
I'm really pleased with this mini for many reasons. It's just a quick paintjob of a couple of hours or so, but I tried out a couple of new approaches to shading and highlighting to what I think was great effect. I'm also trying a new lighting set-up to get my pictures, which I think works quite well, although it clearly still needs tweaking. This mini was sent to me by Rich at Otherworld Miniatures. It's from their forthcoming human adventurer sets which were recently successfully funded on Kickstarter, but which aren't due for release until Spring 2013, so I felt really privileged to get my hands on one. It's a fantastic little sculpt, packed with interesting details and is superbly cast - I think I had one teeny tiny bit of flash to remove and, other than that, I painted it straight from the pack. I'll be using this for games of Song of Blades and Heroes and other fantasy skirmish games, but it's a brilliant little dungeon explorer that will find a place in many a gamer's collection, I think.
