Iron Painter 8 - Round 3 - Only three colours

My 54th model this year. I'm not making things easy for myself with the one base = one model no matter how big or how many things on it rule. Nevertheless, I got this done for the third round of the Iron Painter this year. The theme was an interesting one as 'Only three colours' could have been taken purely as a technical challenge (and some entrants did indeed do that) but I tried to add a story to the theme and also challenge myself to the three colours element too. For the non clown parts on this I only used three standard paints from the new GW range: Mephiston Red, Ceramite White and Abaddon Black. I did use Bloodletter Glaze on the eyes too actually. As an aside, this was my first time using the new paints and other than the Glaze, which is rather nice, I am not keen on them. The consistency is horrible compared to a lot of old GW paints and Vallejo paints. Don't think I'll be making the switch after this little experiment. Anyway, the story behind the scene: In an alternate universe Communism reigns. There is no escape from conformity. Colour has been drained from all things save for desaturated black and white, and the lifeblood of the nation - the red blood. The population are drained of colour and kept under total control through chemicals constantly injected into own blood supply from tanks attached from birth. But some pockets of resistance fight on, believing in individuality, colour, diversity and freedom. Unfortunately for Bozo the Clown, anarchist extraordinaire, big old clown shoes aren't particularly suitable footwear for escaping a mob of the colourless, mindless population. One touch is all it takes and the colour begins to drain. All will conform. All will follow. Three colorz only!
