Ghoul of the Crypt

I hit the milestone of 5 years of miniature painting and I wanted to do something special for the occasion. So I made a "updated" version of my first painted miniature ( http://www.coolminiornot.com/298833?browseid=541106 ) . I kept the original elements, mainly the blue scheme, of the first ghoul and put them into a current GW ghoul model. I also had to slightly alter it's left arm's position because it initially looked like it was having a epic nose wipe. But this surely isn't my best shot. It's actually rather rare nowadays that I paint skin with so "unnatural" color because I'm so used to muted and natural tones. That's why I find out that I should really practice painting white and off-white areas. But so. It's going to be interesting what sort of ghoul I'll be painting after the next 5 years, in my 10th year anniversary.

I like your sense of mood, the cool blue gray skin contrasting with the bloody darkened muzzle and hands has a great 'punch'! The 'backside' detail has some great 'character' as well ;) TG
