Thanx, I agree that the base looks a bit out of place, part of the cause lies in the source of lighting, which was a natural light from the window above and the white color of the base. I might go work some more on the base.
Cool paintjob on an interesting mini, but I don't feel the base is complimenting it well. I assume the marbled finish is deliberate, but I don't feel that it achieves the framing effect that a base rim should have and the cool pale colours of the base terrain are unsympathetic with the cool dark colours of the model.
