Wolfen Vestal

After reading an article on taking pics for CMON, and fixing the sloppy stripe by kinda making it look like a braided design, I decided to repost. Oh, and comments welcome!

Thanks for that super generous comment! The colors I used for her skin (and there were only two :) ) were Scorched Brown as a base and then Dark Flesh. After putting down the S.B., I thinned the D.F. down with water to almost nothing and kept putting little transparent layers of it down and letting it dry. I kept decreasing the area I was painting until I was just hitting the highlights, so I got a nice subtle transition, but it took FOREVER! I can't tell you how many layers I used, just til it looked right... I hit the high areas on her muzzle and cheekbones with Bestial Brown. I did the purple cloth the same way, starting with Imperial Purple, then Liche Purple, then Warlock Purple. As far as that hair goes, after looking at the pics, I asked my husband, "Where did all the different reds go?" It does look flat, sigh, the limits of technology. Thanks again!

Hey, Wow! She's fantastic! I am usually not that crazy about Rackham figures (I know, there's something wrong with me) but I think you've done a really great job with this one. the skin tone is really nice--do you remember what colors you used? I also like how you've highlighted the purple--seems to go from a bluey-purple to a reddish-purple. Last time I tried that, it turned out mostly pink, so I'm envious! ;) The only criticism I can offer is that her hair needs some more shadowing between the strands. It looks pretty flat.
