Wilhelm

This is Wilhelm from the Mordheim range. He is the third miniature that I've painted and the first that I've painted in 14 years. I wish I had more pictures but a friend took this for me; I painted it for him. I used GW paints and this was my first attempt at basing. I would like to get a picture of his cloak to add later since I used wet blending. I'm sure it is a bit difficult but I'm looking for all the help and criticism that you fine folks can spare. Thanks!

(6.5)Not bad at all. I was just thinking I'd have like to see a few more shots. There are areas that look uninteresting - the book, neck and the belt. But the face, cloak and staff are good and are the more important elements. I would suggest looking at ways to keep areas well defined and cleanly presented. Dark lining is one way, for example where the hand and cloak join. More shadows around the belt area etc. If this is the first you have done for 14 years then your next few works should progress real speedily. Pick a good model to, part of the score you get is based on the coolness of the sculpt, and this is a little plain really. dfb

I think you've done a good job mate. Just practise practise practise, refine your technique and you have the potential to be painting up some very fine looking models.
