This is a nice mini. I particularly like the white helmet/snow combo, as it suggests a kinda "frozen heart within" kinda malarky. I think you could improve this mini's score by giving it a black or dark grey background, and tweaking the camera settings to take a slightly brighter picture, as the red is kinda tricky to see clearly. If you did so, it would be looking more like a 7.5 ~ 8, maybe. (depending on blending, which is hard to see in this pic)

Hey Waffleman, following on from the forum post about scores, I would say your photo is what is letting you down, which you already know anyway, its not necessarily your model which is a "5". If the colour is not showing its hard to judge accurately. I can see that this mini is probably a whole lot better in your hand, I can see that the shading on the weapon looks pretty cool and the horns on the helmet look nicely done - but only because I am looking hard. Most people will judge it by the cold photo you have taken which does not show the model off in proper light. From this persepective the score would be accurate. I would suggest lighting your model differently and retaking and reposting this piece. To see what I mean go into the top twenty of the week and check out the popping colours in their photos and you will see why they score 9. whatever. Hope that explains the votes a little better and don't let it put you off posting your work please! dfb
