Uglunuk, Half Giant Warrior

Hi, this is my first mini. I tried painting one for 10 minutes years ago but I gave up. I painted this one for a D&D game I'm in. I needed a dual axe wielding Goliath ranger so I decided to use this Half Giant and change him a little. I put the head thing on because the scuplt kind of has a little pin head, so I figured he could wear a rangering hood. I didn't like how the axes I made met up with the old weapon remnants in his hands so I decided to make little leather straps and strap his axes in, so he doesn't drop an axe while killing foes. This is also my first attempt at basing. Please leave me your critiques and criticisms, I can take it. I would really like to improve at this so I'm open to all the advice I can get.

Who do you think you are telling me what I need to do, who asked you!?! Seriously though, thanks for all the help, I appreciate it.

Nice start! Especially since you converted the first mini you ever painted. The eyes look cool and creepy, and the axes look deadly. In the photo, the armor and the flesh look too similar in shade. Maybe more highlights, in a yellowish brown color for the armor? It would be cool to pick out the threads in a light color too.
