I did this mini with the theme of gimli in the mines of moria (sort of, but not really) the mini was a lot of fun to paint, i love red box games minis, the detail is amazing! the shield is freehanded to look like wings (no theme behind that, i just thought that it looked nice). the tile floor is just some foam board that i cut with a hobbyknife. the two wood stakes/spears have no real purpose but to make the mini a bit more interesting. the base that he stands on was really interesting, and there was much experimenting to complete it: i first spent an afternoon with a lighter up to its edge to burn it sufficiently, then i hit it with a hammer when i wasnt burning it. finally i rubbed some milliput sparingly into the recesses so that it was a bit smoother looking. im really impressed with it. if you have any questions, feel free to ask
