LotR Army Of The Dead In Blue

After painting the Mantic Skeleton in blue, I wondered if I could push the theme onto undead that were more than just bone. This pair are the result, with the one on the right being painted first. I'm seeing them as the more corporeal end of undead rather than ghostly, though no doubt they'll end up standing in for whatever I happen to need in forthcoming D&D games :) Cheers, B.

Loving these too. I'm working on my own set of LotR dead guys, and pushing them to be 100% ethereal with a monochormatic blue pallete, so this is informative to see.

Hi there MintFish, just noticed your comment, so on the off-chance that you see this... ...best as I recall they'll have been basecoated with GW Foundation Necron Abyss (dark blue) and then highlighted up by mixing in various off-whites, most likely GW Kommando Khaki (pale khaki), GW Rotting Flesh (green tinged beige), GW Bleached Bone (beige). Add a bit of white for final highlight on the skulls and teeth. Beards will be GW Bestial Brown and Vermin Brown (orangey browns), mix in Bleached Bone to highlight, while the other will be a GW Scorched Earth (chocolate) base. Metal will be GW Tin Bitz with silver mixed in to highlight. Think I've got the colour names correct! Thanks for the comment, B.

The blending you used creates a nice, ethereal look to these guys. I'd love to know more about what colors you used to get this effect.
