Well, maybe because of the illumination level of the picture. If i hold them in my hands on arm's length, i can easily distinguish details...

In my opinion it's not a bad paintjob, however somehow the mini blends in all together and the details are difficult to distinguis. Perhaps a little brown/blacklinning would help you?
